What drives the price
Five things change what you pay.
The city
Manhattan, Beverly Hills, Miami, and central Bay Area carry the highest rates. Smaller metros and the rural Midwest sit at the low end.
The artist's body of work
A specialist with thousands of healed lips and a six-month waitlist will charge several times what a recently-certified PMU artist charges.
Whether the touch-up is included
The 6–8 week touch-up is not optional. If a price excludes it, factor in another $150–$400.
Complexity
Neutralising dark or uneven natural pigment, correcting another artist's work, and pronounced asymmetry all take longer and cost more.
Studio overhead
A private studio in a high-rent district charges more than a chair rental in a salon — not a quality signal in itself, but a price signal.
